Plain-English definitions for the terminology used across Coach's Corner.
- 1X2
- A betting market where you pick one of three possible outcomes: home win (1), draw (X), or away win (2).
- Accumulator
- A single bet that links multiple selections; all must win for the bet to pay out.
- Anytime Goalscorer
- A bet on a player to score at any point during the match.
- Asian Handicap
- A handicap given to a team to level the match, removing the draw option and often using half or quarter goals.
- Bankroll
- The total amount of money you have set aside for betting.
- Bet Builder
- A tool that allows you to combine multiple selections within a single match into one wager.
- Both Teams To Score
- A bet on whether each team will score at least one goal during the match.
- Cash Out
- A feature that lets you settle a bet before the match ends, locking in a profit or loss.
- Clean Sheet
- A bet on a team finishing the match without allowing any goals.
- Correct Score
- A bet that requires you to predict the exact final score of a match.
- Double Chance
- A bet that covers two of the three possible outcomes in a match, increasing your chance of winning.
- First Goal Scorer
- A bet on which player will score the first goal in the match.
- Golden Boot
- A bet on which player will score the most goals throughout the tournament.
- Group Winner
- A bet on which team will finish top of its group in the tournament.
- In-Play
- A bet placed after the match has started, while the game is ongoing.
- Juice
- The commission or fee that a bookmaker charges for taking a bet, built into the odds.
- Line Movement
- Changes in the betting odds or point spread as more people bet.
- Odds Comparison
- A way to compare the odds offered by different bookmakers for the same event.
- Over/Under
- A bet on whether the total number of goals in a match will be more or less than a set number.
- Parlay
- Another term for an accumulator; a bet that combines several outcomes for a larger payout.
- Player Prop
- A bet on an individual player's performance, such as goals, assists, or cards.
- Red Card
- A bet on whether a player will be sent off during the match.
- Stake
- The amount of money you wager on a single bet.
- Tournament Outright
- A bet on which team will win the entire tournament, such as the World Cup.
- Value Bet
- A bet where the odds offered are higher than the true probability of the outcome, giving you an edge.
